CLEARWATER, FL. - Red Star Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Darran Brown, Founder and CEO of Go Charity, to its Advisory Board.

An entrepreneur, fundraising innovator, and longtime supporter of the nonprofit community, Brown brings more than 25 years of experience helping charitable organizations strengthen their fundraising efforts, build meaningful partnerships, and expand their impact.

Brown founded Go Charity in New York City in 1999 after beginning his professional career as a foreign exchange trader in the international banking industry. What started as a sports memorabilia venture grew under his leadership into a nationally recognized fundraising company specializing in luxury auctions, experiences, and charitable events.

Today, Go Charity works with hundreds of nonprofit events each year, helping organizations generate critical funding while creating memorable experiences that deepen donor engagement and advance their missions.

Brown credits much of his entrepreneurial approach to the combination of discipline and creativity he learned from his parents. His father’s strong work ethic and his mother’s artistic spirit helped shape a leadership philosophy centered on hard work, innovation, relationships, and finding creative ways to make a meaningful difference.

A New Yorker through and through, Brown launched Go Charity in the Wall Street area and has maintained a deep connection to New York City and its nonprofit community throughout his career. His belief in giving back, developing lasting relationships, and using business as a force for good closely aligns with the mission of Red Star Foundation.

Red Star Foundation is dedicated to eradicating suicide among current military, veterans, and first responders while providing hope, recognition, and connection to the families who have lost someone to suicide.

As a member of the Red Star Foundation Advisory Board, Brown will provide insight and guidance in the areas of fundraising, strategic partnerships, nonprofit growth, special events, and national brand development as the Foundation continues expanding its mission across the country.

Brown is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he played collegiate soccer. He lives in New York City with his two dogs and is an avid motorcyclist.

His appointment adds another experienced nonprofit and business leader to Red Star Foundation’s growing network of advisors working to strengthen the organization’s national reach, partnerships, fundraising capacity, and long-term impact.
