Red Star Foundation and America 250 Announce Partnership to Honor America’s 250th Anniversary

CLEARWATER, FL – America250, the national, nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, has announced a national partnership with the Red Star Foundation. This partnership will support efforts to honor those who have served the nation while addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing the military, veteran and first responder communities: suicide prevention.

Red Star Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing suicide among current military, veterans, and first responders while honoring the families of those lost, will work alongside America 250 to ensure these communities are meaningfully represented as part of the Nation’s Semiquincentennial commemoration.

Together, America 250 and Red Star Foundation will elevate awareness, foster connection, and engage Americans in recognizing both the sacrifices made in service to the country and the ongoing responsibility to care for those who serve.

“As we approach the Semiquincentennial, it’s essential to honor those who have served our country and continue to champion them beyond their service,” said Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250. Through its work with military members, veterans, and first responders, Red Star Foundation plays a critical role in strengthening awareness and support for those who serve.”

“Honoring our nation’s history must include honoring those who have defended it and standing with them long after their service ends,” said Jerry Shaffer, CEO of Red Star Foundation. “Through this partnership, we have an opportunity to bring national attention to the realities facing our military, veteran, and first responder communities, while creating meaningful pathways for connection, healing, and support.”

As part of this collaboration, Red Star Foundation will contribute to America 250’s national efforts through storytelling, program integration, and community engagement initiatives that highlight resilience, service, and the human cost of protecting the Nation. The partnership will also help drive awareness around mental health resources and reinforce the importance of collective responsibility in supporting those who serve.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to honoring the full American story, one that includes service, sacrifice, and the ongoing work required to strengthen the nation and its people.
