ASAP – The 4 Pillars of the Red Star Foundation
At the Red Star Foundation, our mission to combat military, veteran, and first responder suicide is built upon four key pillars. These pillars guide our programs, initiatives, and outreach efforts, ensuring we provide meaningful support to veterans, service members, first responders, and their families.
1. Awareness
Raising awareness about military, veteran, and first responder suicide is critical to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health struggles. Through national campaigns, community events, and public speaking engagements, we educate the public, share personal stories, and highlight the urgent need for action.
2. Support
No one should have to navigate their struggles alone. The Red Star Foundation provides a strong support system for veterans, service members, first responders, and families who have experienced loss. Through our Red Star Family network, remembrance events, and peer-to-peer programs, we ensure that no one feels forgotten or left behind.
3. Advocacy
We work tirelessly to advocate for better mental health resources, policy changes, and increased support for those at risk. By collaborating with local and national leaders, we push for initiatives that create lasting change for service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.
4. Prevention
Consistent support saves lives. Our unique programs aim to train advocates to recognize crisis signs, offer peer support, and connect individuals with life-saving resources. By promoting education, outreach, and proactive measures, we strive to prevent suicide before it happens.
Each of these pillars strengthens our commitment to preventing suicide and supporting those affected. Together, we are building a future where every veteran, service member, first responder, and their family has hope, help, and a community that stands with them. Join us in our mission. Together, we can make a difference.
